Larger gear teeth produce excellent strength and require less maintenance, while smaller teeth can feel smoother and minimize slop and play between the gears
There are several other reel options out there with gear ratios in the 6.2:1 to 6.8:1 range
With a smaller reel where it is difficult to get your fingers inside to mess with the spool, you can pop the side plate off and slide the spool out
